Joann
Persell
May 8, 1927 — Jan 22, 2026
Our Momma, JoAnn Lancaster Persell, has gone to Heaven on January 22, 2026, to be with her parents Sheldon and Mamie Lancaster, her sister Martha Jane Ramsey, her brothers Albert Gene, Buddy and Bertis Lancaster, a treasured son Christy, and her beloved husband Pat .
She leaves behind to miss her every day, three children Max Chrisman, Marcie Crittenden, and Leanna Holdgraf (husband Maurice); grandchildren Matthew (Nikki), Luke (Annette), Alex, Harley, Kara (Chuck), Christopher (Martha), Cody, Cassie, Michael (Tammie), Butch, and Billy; great-grandchildren Mindy, Levi, Luke, Hailey, Hannah, Ryleigh, Jessica, Shawna, Ashley, Holly, Hailey, Chrissy, Billy, FaithAnn, Lily, Karter, Colson, Breanna, and Clover; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.
JoAnn was born and raised in Harrisburg, Illinois, and had lived on the east side of Kansas City for many years. Most recently she lived at Garden Village Retirement Community where she enjoyed many friendships.
A highlight of her life, besides being a wonderful homemaker, was a trip to the Holy Land where she was baptized in the Jordan River. She loved watching football, baseball, and NASCAR on tv. JoAnn was a 4'11" Harley Davison rider and was delighted her daughter Marcie rode as well. Mother just loved the roar of engines.
Please join us for her celebration of life at Passantino Bros Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, January 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and on Saturday, January 31, beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. [ LIVE STREAM ] Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
