Obituary

Josephine Anne "JoAnne" Sage of Raytown, Missouri, was born on May 12, 1936, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She passed away on October 19, 2023, at the age of 87 in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

JoAnne attended Central High School in Reading, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1954. She moved to Kansas City soon after graduating and married her husband Daniel Benton Sage in 1959. JoAnne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many throughout her long life. She was a big supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals, and she always appreciated the arts, especially music. She was almost always upbeat and optimistic. However, nothing made her happier than to be with her family and she considered them the most important people in her life. She was always just a phone call away to talk to. She was always willing to help in whatever form she could, and she never let anyone be upset or lonely.

JoAnne is survived by sons Phillip Joseph Sage of Raytown, Missouri, Stephen Daniel Sage and wife Amy of Lee's Summit, Missouri; daughter-in-law Robin Sage of Overland Park, Kansas; brother Richard "Dick" Stubblebine and wife Paula of Olathe, Kansas; and brother Elwood "Bud" Stubblebine and wife Penny of Aurora, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew Weibel and wife Debbie, Zachery Sage and wife Brittany, Madison Sage, and Lillian Sage; along with four great-grandchildren Ari Weibel, Zoe Weibel, Vivian Sage and Joseph Sage. She was preceded in death by her parents Elwood and Mildred Stubblebine; her husband of 59 years Daniel Benton Sage; and son Michael Douglas Sage.
