Joseph Anthony Abbott, 43, passed away June 18, 2023, in his home.

Joe was born February 25, 1980, in Kansas City, MO. He was a graduate of Winnetonka High School and Park University. During his time at Park University, he studied public administration and graduated magna cum laude.  He worked for many years at his family's business.

Joe was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved everyone with whom he came in contact. He cherished being with his family, especially the true loves of his life, nephew, Joey, and nieces, Lela and Katie. He loved showering them with gifts. A huge hole will be left in the hearts of those around him. He endured the loss of too many friends before him and we pray that they were all waiting for him with open arms and rejoicing in his entrance to eternal peace. He will finally rest and be at peace.

Joe is preceded in death by both maternal grandparents Joe Jr and Connie Porrello, paternal grandparents Joe & Antionette Abbott, and paternal uncle Charles Abbott.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Roseanne Abbott; sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Lee VanMeter; nephew Joey VanMeter, and nieces Lela and Katie VanMeter, aunt Margaret Marsala, and his godparent's uncle Joe and aunt Sandie Porrello along with many loving cousins.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 12 p.m.
