Joe was born February 5, 1929 in the Northend section of Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Jennie (Garbo) LaBella. He was a 1946 graduate of Northeast High School and married his childhood sweetheart Nadine DeCleva on September 2, 1950. Joe proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Joe worked in the automotive paint business and later owned and operated Air Spray Inc. After retiring in 1988, he was a delivery driver for Robert's Pharmacy in NKC and retired in 1999. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed walking with his friends at the Antioch Shopping Center.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frank LaBella. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Nadine; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Mark Misenhelter; granddaughters, Michelle Misenhelter, Jodi McClanahan and her husband Michael; brother Carl LaBella; sister Frances Montaleone, many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
