John Thomas Battaglia, 64, passed away October 14, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 19, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
John was the middle child and only son of Isadore and Lena. He was a devoted son to his parents and was a kind soul with a very big heart. He loved his four sisters and always was there for them. John was very proud when he boxed under the direction of Joe Rima and in 1974 became a Golden Gloves Champ. His best accomplishments were his wife Sandra his love and the love of his children, then later when he became a nanu his heart melted for his grandchildren. They were the joy of his life. John will be missed by his family and many friends.
John was preceded in death by wife, Sandra; his parents, Isadore and Lena Battaglia; and his nephew, Sam J. Pisciotta. He leaves behind a daughter, Johnna Frank; his two sons, John Isadore (Trish) and Michael (Stephanie); six grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, John Isadore Jr., Cash Michael, Michael Jr., and Sandra Lena; sisters and spouses, Teresa and Frank Pisciotta, Frances and Vincent Cammisano, Margaret Guerra, Manuel Guerra, Toni and Dean Hart; along with many nieces, nephews, and greats.
Pallbearers are John's nephews: John, Frank Jr., and Tony Pisciotta, Tony Cammisano, Luis John Hernandez, and Manuel Guerra. Honorary Pallbearers: Pat LaCapra, Michael Guerra, and Dean Hart.
