John T. Genova, 95, passed away April 25, 2022. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, at St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at St. Gabriel Church, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.

John was born September 11, 1926, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Anthony and Angelina (Brancato) Genova. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Philippines. He worked as a meat cutter for almost 40 years at Safeway and Food Barn, and later was owner of John's T-Shirts & More in Smithville, MO. He was preceded in death by his sisters Ann Morreale and Patricia Montalte.

John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carrie A. (Maggio) Genova; his children, John A. Genova, Steve Genova, Cheryl Dass (Kevin); grandchildren Austin Dass, Kyle Dass, Dillon Dass, Angelina Genova, Elena Genova; and sisters-in-law Mary Pearson (George) and Rosalie Maggio.
