John G. Hammons, 51, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on July 23rd, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born August 22, 1970, in Independence, Missouri to Brenda Hammons. He grew up on several rural properties in the Midwest with four sisters: Amy Poindexter, Stacey Hammons-Adams, Heather Hart, and Jennifer Rodriguez.

John proudly served in the United States Navy. During this time, he was able to travel the world and shared many wonderful experiences. He earned a marksman qualification ribbon and served as a torpedoman. John went on to work for EDS, Sprint, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise/Aruba.

After leaving the Navy, John met the love of his life, Hilda Hemingway-Hammons. They celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary shortly before his passing. He devoted his life to his wife and two wonderful children, John H. Hammons (21) and Ava M. Hammons (20), of whom he was very proud. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Patty and Bob Beck of Texas.

John had a very strong faith in the Lord. He was an incredibly generous, compassionate, and loving friend, husband, and father. He was dependable, would help anyone in need, and embodied selflessness. Even in his last few months, he was only concerned with preparing his family for the future. John loved making spreadsheets for every occasion, decision, and personal interest. To relax, John spent time with his family and played the occasional video game.

John will be deeply missed and always remembered by all who knew him.
