John M. Mancuso, 61, Gladstone, MO, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at NorthCare Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, December 12, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 13, at Holy Rosary Church, with burial following in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

John was born December 8, 1952, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, to James F. and Florence A. (Mangiaracina) Mancuso of Columbus Park in Kansas City, MO. He was a 1971 graduate of St. Pius X High School and attended Tarkio College where he received his degree in business management and graduated suma cum laude. John worked for AT&T in various capacities for 33 years before retiring as manager in 2005. He then started a small business called Land and Sea, specializing in yard statuary, small pets and salt water aquatics, which allowed him to nurture his passion for animals and nature. He always kept his yard beautiful with flowers, enjoyed his fish ponds, visiting with neighbors, dinner nights out with friends, spending time with his family, and endless hours with his beautiful granddaughters. John was known for his compassionate ways as well as his sense of humor.

John was preceded in death by his father, James F. Mancuso; mother-in-law, Mollie E. Parisi; sister-in-law, Anna C. Mancuso; and brother-in-law, Michael J. Parisi.

Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Janet Mancuso; sons and daughter-in-law, James and Angela Mancuso, Jay Mancuso; daughter, Florence Mancuso; grandchildren, Lilliana Grace and Marina Rose Mancuso; his mother, Florence A. Mancuso; father-in-law, Jasper J. Parisi; brothers and sister-in-law, Michael Mancuso, James Mancuso Jr., Vincent Mancuso, Victor and Sarah Mancuso; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces whom he loved very much. He will be deeply missed by all.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and give special thanks to the staff of NorthCare Hospice for their excellent care for John and support to the family. Also a very special thanks to all of the friends, neighbors and family who have supported us through this very difficult time.
