John Anthony Mandacina, born December 12, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away July 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering loyalty, determination, and love for his family and friends.

John was born to Joseph and Theresa Mandacina and was raised in the Northeast area of Kansas City, where he built lifelong friendships and developed the values that defined his life. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1965.

For 59 wonderful and challenging years, John was the devoted husband of the love of his life, Anne (LaBruzzo) Mandacina. He was incredibly proud of their marriage and the family they built together. He was a loving father to Teresa, Joe Victor, and John Anthony II, and his greatest joy came from seeing his family grow and thrive.

Early in his career, John worked alongside his father managing the Red Front Buffet on 5th Street in downtown Kansas City. He approached everything he did with remarkable ambition. If John set his mind to something, he found a way to make it happen. His determination was matched only by his deep sense of honor and integrity.

John was known for his fierce loyalty and enduring friendships. There was nothing he wouldn't do to help those he loved. Whether family, friend, or neighbor, John was always willing to go above and beyond, expecting nothing in return. His generosity and steadfast support touched countless lives.

A lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, John found great joy in cheering on his hometown team and sharing that passion with those around him.

John was an honorable man whose commitment to doing what he believed was right came at a tremendous personal cost, taking 30 years of his life. Yet through every challenge, he remained resilient, loyal, and true to his principles. His strength of character will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

John's legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Anne; his children, Teresa, Joe Victor, and John Anthony II; his family, lifelong friends, and all whose lives were enriched by his kindness, loyalty, and unwavering determination.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Theresa Mandacina; and in-laws, Vito and Jeanette LaBruzzo.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anne Mandacina; his brother, Joe Phil Mandacina (Gina); his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Teresa Spino (Anthony), and Nick LaBruzzo (Maria); his children, Teresa Mange (Michael), Joe Victor, and John Anthony II (Annamarie); his grandchildren, Larry Mandacina (Nicole), Joanna Livingston (Cody), Rosemary Martino (Johnny), Kristopher Mandacina, Antonia "Nina" Mange, Michael Mange Jr, Isabella Mandacina and John Mandacina III; his six great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at St Luke's Hospital and St Luke's Hospice House for the exceptional care and kindness they provided John during his final days.

Services will be held on Monday, July 27, at St Patrick's Catholic Church, beginning with the Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and followed by the Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Reflections at 11:45 a.m., and the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.  Please omit flowers.
