John Salvator Manichia, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 20, 2024, at the age of 83. John was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Josephine (Pisano) Manichia; his two sisters Marie Manichia (Zicarelli) and Josephine Manichia; and his brother Joe Manichia.

John graduated from Northeast High School and soon after joined the Kansas City, Missouri Fire Department where he served for 25 years.  In 1966, John was drafted in the United States Army where he served his country during the Vietnam War. He was known for his love of golf, spending many spring and summer days at local courses perfecting his game.  He enjoyed taking long walks from his home on Sunrise Drive in Northeast up Gladstone Boulevard to the Kansas City Museum.

John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Becky Manichia and extended family.  He will be deeply missed by his family, loving neighbors, and friends.

The Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. followed by Visitation 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home.
