Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Anthony Vigliaturo, 61, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Kay Vigliaturo.

For decades he worked at Scimeca's Grocery, starting at the age of 15. Joe then worked in the Pharmacy and Cancer Care Center at NKC hospital. Joe was a very hard worker. He volunteered at the hospital for many years while battling cancer three times. Through the years, he touched many lives with his generous heart and extreme desire to help others. He was a great brother and uncle, a loyal cousin and friend, very kind and always had a warm welcoming smile along with a great sense of humor. In his younger years, he was full of life, energetic, loved to go to concerts and travel with family and friends.

Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, classic TV shows, music and cooking. From a very young age he thoroughly enjoyed phones and later on also enjoyed computers, numerous other electronic devices and social media. He had a great dedication to the Lord while also loving to read and study scripture. He had many special religious items that surrounded him in his daily life.

Joe is survived by his brothers Frank Vigliaturo, Sal Vigliaturo (Judi); sisters Judy Morgan (Chris), Prudy Malaponte (Eddie), MaryKay Jones (Mark); many nieces, nephews, family, friends; and his dog, his little buddy Vinnie.

Joe's family wishes to thank NorthCare Hospice House for the compassionate, loving and attentive care. Joe will be greatly missed by all. We love him very much and he will remain in our hearts forever.

Pallbearers: Donnie Cox, Eddie Malaponte Jr., Mark Joseph Jones, Michael Jones, Godchild Matthew Jones, Bunny Caruso, Andre Fantasma, Billy Parrish, Sam Valenti, Frankie Joe Vigliaturo
