Joseph Pete Christiano, 79, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 17, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 18, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Joe was born on August 18, 1933 in Kansas City, MO. He was a serviceman in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors-Fairfax District after 30 years of employment. He was a member of the Rumba club, in which he spent time with his closest friends telling stories, one of his favorite things to do. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors at his farm. He is remembered for his positive attitude, love for his family, and his passion for life. He spent his last years of life enjoying time and coffee with his great-granddaughters whom he cherished dearly. Joe was preceded in death by his wife Josephine (DiCapo) Christiano, parents Angelo and Rosalie Christiano, and sister Rosemarie Palumbo.

Joe is survived by son and daughter- in-law Angelo and Lisa Christiano; daughters Antoinette Strada and Carol Jo Reek; grandchildren Cristina and Vince Armilio, Joseph and John Strada, Joe Pete, Angelo, and Francesca Christiano, and Nicholas Reek; great-grandchildren Sophia and Lena Armilio; sisters Michelene LaSala and Antoinette Miller; brothers-in-law Pat Palumbo and Vito DiCapo; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
