Joseph Fiorello, 97, Independence, MO, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the Villages of Jackson Creek. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, October 22, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO, 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, October 23 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO, 64055, where The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Joe was born March 7, 1915 in Kansas City, Missouri to Nick and Pasqualina Fiorello. He retired from the Santa Fe-Kansas City Terminal Railroad. Joe enjoyed bowling, dancing, horseshoes, and playing pitch with his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katherine "Kitty" Fiorello; brothers, Tony and Ross Fiorello; and sister, Katherine Distefano.
Joe is survived by his children and spouses, Nick and Bunny Fiorello, Patricia and William Broekemeier; grandchildren, Joe Mike and Jean Marie Fiorello, Bill and Cathy Fiorello, Nicky Joe Fiorello, Stephen and Lea Cosentino, Helena Cosentino, Cassie Broekemeier; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kelly DeMaria; companion, Pearl DeMayo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe's grandsons and great-grandsons will be his pallbearers.
