Joseph F. Pisciotta, Sr., 89, passed away at home on January 23, 2018. The Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. followed by Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, MO 64118. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 26, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the St. Charles Borromeo Parish Revitalization Campaign.
Joseph was born July 17, 1928, in Kansas City, MO, and was a graduate of Rockhurst University. He served in the 205
th
Medical Battalion of the National Guard for seven years and was employed at TWA for 13 years before joining the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for over 40 years. He was a member of the Camporeale Society, and the Friendly Club of St. Charles Borromeo Parish. Joseph was a kind, patient, gentle, and loving man who always put other before himself. He loved to read and tend his garden. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting Branson every year with his family. The greatest gift a man can give his children is his faith in God. Joseph exemplified what marriage should be – love, respect and commitment.
Joseph was preceded in death by his son, Joseph F. Pisciotta, Jr.; his parents, Frank and Rosalia Pisciotta; his brothers, Frank, Sam, and Jack Pisciotta; his sisters, Vita DiMartino, Sadie Falco, and Grace Licata. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rosalie Pisciotta; his children, Frank Pisciotta, Sam Pisciotta (Vicki), John Pisciotta, Rosalind Boehm (Jonathan); his grandchildren, Klara Pisciotta, Rosie Doctor (James), Lauren Boehm, Josh Boehm, Angelique Short; his three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
