Joseph Carl Recob, 65, passed away from this life on Friday, March 18, 2016, and was carried by the angels to heaven. The Rosary will be prayed at 2 p.m. followed by Visitation at 2:30 p.m. and a Memorial Mass at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 309 Benton Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124.
Joe treasured his family, especially his wife of 43 years, Darlene. He adored his grandchildren. He derived such utter joy being "Papa Joe" and spending as much time with them as humanly possible. Joe was the kindest, sweetest, most loving, giving man you could ever imagine. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Music also played an important part in his life. He loved to play guitar and sing his heart out. Joseph served in the United States Navy for a brief time from 1968 to 1972. Through the years he honed his skills as a 'jack of all trades'. If it needed fixing Joe was the man! He had recently retired after working as a comm-tech at AT&T for 18 years.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Harry Recob; his mother, Virginia Recob; father-in-law, Billy Anderson; and mother-in-law, Marlene Anderson. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; son, David Recob (Amanda); brothers and sisters, Raymond Recob, Charlotte Recob, Rose Pierce, Mary and Jack Steiner, Susan Recob; sister-in-law, Cindy Anderson; and his grandchildren, Kain Koepp, Seattle Koepp, Kaleb Recob, Marlie Mae, Lucianna Recob, and Piper Recob. He also leaves behind many friends and relatives.
Joseph is forever in our hearts, deeply loved, and profoundly missed.
