Joseph Dominic Vigliaturo, 91, our one-of-a-kind husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 3, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Antonia Vigliaturo; brothers, Jim Vigliaturo (Leona), Tony Vigliaturo, Sam Vigliaturo (Kay); and sisters, Angie Bohanon (Burt), Lee Parrish (Bill), Rose Guastello, and Congetta Distefano.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Betty Jean Vigliaturo; sons, Frank Joseph Vigliaturo, Joseph Carmen Vigliaturo; daughter, Antionette Manzo-Sherrow (John); four grandchildren, Tisha Vigliaturo, Maria Tabor (Michael), Elizabeth Mitchell (Michael), Mathew Joseph "JoJo" Manzo Jr.; brother, Carmen Vigliaturo (Virginia); brother-in-law, Carmello "Cheebay" Guastello; sister in-law, Hella Lindsay; gumadi, Margaret Sue Malaponte; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Joe was a lifelong and loyal Missourian with a strong love for his family and fellow human beings. He graduated from Manual High School where he met the love of his life, Betty Jean Pope. He said, "I knew she would be mine from the first moment I saw her." Joe initiated the Manual High School re-unions. The last several years of the reunion, he was recognized for his great efforts making sure everything went smoothly. He retired from Milgram's Foods after 42 years. He stayed loyal to the Milgram's slogan, "Hi Neighbor," saying it with a smile numerous times to family and friends alike. Joe was Lieutenant-Governor and Past-President of Kiwanis. He implemented the vote to allow women to join Kiwanis. He was also Past-President of the Kansas City Chapter of UNICO. He was 4th Degree member and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. In his retirement, he took another job, his last, as chauffer to his wife who retired from Dillard's this past March, where she commented, "he's just as handsome now as he was when I met him and he's all mine." On August 7, 2020 Joe and Betty celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary sharing a full life commitment to God, family and friends.

He was an avid fan of the Chiefs and Royals, having season tickets for many years. He was always taking care of things. He faithfully visited family and friends bringing a brighter day with his presence. He was there for those who were sick or needed to be uplifted. He attended numerous funeral gatherings showing his respect and honor for so many. His amusing and unique way of dancing inspired his nieces and nephews to a Vigliaturo family dance move called "the Uncle Joe Shuffle."  He lived life with true passion always famously asking, "Are you Enthused?!"

He will be sorely missed by all.

A very special thank you to his only grandson, Joe Manzo, for his faithful, loving, compassionate nursing care he gave to his grandfather which went above and beyond.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Gladstone, MO. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum. Masks and social distancing are required for the services.
