Josephine Elizabeth
Fazzino
Feb 19, 1931 — Jan 22, 2026
Josephine Elizabeth (Bua) Fazzino, 94, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on January 22,2026.
Josephine was born on February 19, 1931, and grew up in the North End, "Little Italy", where she went to school and formed very strong friendships with a group of girls who called themselves 'The Kindergarten Club'. They met regularly for 70 years!
Josephine was married to her husband Pat for 53 years and was a loving wife and mother. She was strong in her faith, a devout Catholic, and a member of Holy Rosary Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and baking and was very proud of her beaded Christmas tablecloth. Later in her life she started working and eventually retired from the Jackson County Legislators Office.
Family and traditions were very important to her. Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings were a must with everyone's favorite dishes. She loved her family very much and her face lit up with a big smile when her precious granddaughter Francesca came to visit her. We loved her and will miss her, but our memories will always be with us.
Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Pat, and her brothers Carl and Micheal Bua, brothers and sisters-in-law Alex and Marguerite Fazzino and Frank and Ann Giamalva, and nephew Joseph Giamalva. She leaves behind her children Mary Michael Wolf (Paul), Nick J. Fazzino (Jenny), her granddaughter Francesca Josephine, her step- grandchildren Jennifer, Jaimie (Jonathan), Josh (Carole), her aunt Rosalie George, her sister-in- law JoAnn Bua, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thank you to the caregivers she had while at home and the staff at Linden Woods Village for the excellent care she received every day for the last 10 months. Also thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their guidance during this difficult time.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Alex Fazzino, Frank Fazzino, Nick A. Fazzino, Larry Marshall, Anthony Civella, Pete Bengimina
