Josephine N. (Giangrosso) Passantino, 105, of Columbus Park in Kansas City, MO, passed away April 5, 2015, after a brief illness. The family will receive friends from 9-10:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery immediately following the services.

Josephine, daughter of Joseph & Josephine (Cataldo) Giangrosso, was born August 19, 1909, in St. Amelia Parish, LA. At age four the family moved to Kansas City, MO, and Josephine resided her entire life at the residence in Columbus Park. She attended Karnes School until the 8th grade and opted not to continue her formal education. She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Parish and enjoyed helping with St. Joseph tables. She worked briefly for a uniform manufacturing company, and then worked from home providing specialty handwork to department stores in downtown Kansas City before joining Pisciotta Fruit & Vegetable Co. in the City Market. It was there that she met the love of her life and companion, Vincent Passantino. They were married 52 years.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Passantino; her parents, Joseph & Josephine (Cataldo) Giangrosso; brothers, Sam (Annette) Giangrosso, Frank (Evelyn) Giangrosso, Angelo (Lorraine) Giangrosso, Charlie (Josephine) Giangrosso; sister, Vita (Charles) Pecoraro; and nephews, Joe Giangrosso and Dr. Steve Pecoraro.

Survivors include her nephews & nieces, Joe (Connie) Pecoraro, Judy Pecoraro, Clara Giangrosso, Brenda Sue (Larry) Holderfield, Joan Giangrosso, Charles Frank (Patsy) Giangrosso and Angelo (Paulette) Giangrosso. Also surviving are step-sons, Ross E. Sr. (Josephine) Passantino, Vincent Jr. (Lisa) Passantino; sister-in-law, Pearl (Passantino) DeMayo; and many extended grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
