Josephine "Jo" (Giaramita) Petit of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2012. She was born in Kansas City, MO on June 15, 1933 and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy in 1951. She married Louis Petit on May 15, 1952. Jo was a longtime employee of Scimeca's Market in Northeast Kansas City. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and cheering for the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Leonard and Tommy; and her two sisters, Maria and Salvina.

She is survived by her three loving children, Louis Jr. (Janet), Ronnie (Diane), and Joedy (Lori). She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Louie III (Lauren), Michael, Missy, Joe, Vince, Nicole (Landon), Samantha, Joedy (Ashley), and Dominic; and three great-grandchildren, Zoe, Taylor, and Hunter to whom she was inspirationally known as "Nani". Jo was proud to tell people that it was her family who made her life complete.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, MO 64118, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mt.
