Josephine Marie "Phine" Sola, 84, Columbus Park District, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at her home. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 9, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 10, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to St. Luke's Hospice.

Josephine was born November 29, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Luigi and Concetta (Cappalla) Sola. She retired from Amoco Oil after 23 years of service. She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and was very active in the preparation of cookies for the annual St. Joseph Tables at Holy Rosary and Redemptorist. She loved playing cards and calling bingo at Columbus Park where she was also a member of the Wii bowling team "The Guys & Dolls". Josephine had a heart of gold and was a loving godmother, aunt and friend who will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Joe, Ross, Matthew, Ralph and Jim Sola; and her sister Jean Costanzo. Survivors include her goddaughter, Lisa (Passler) Rodriguez and her daughters Alesia Fernandez and Alexandria Rodriguez; godson, Eddie McHardie; her second family - the Cangelosi's; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Special thanks to Rene Cangelosi and Christine "Chee-Chee" Batton for being with Josephine through her difficult time, and to the staff of St. Luke's Hospice for the care given to Josephine.
