Joshua Ray Caylor of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on February 7 ^th , 2022, at home, surrounded by his family and loved ones.  Joshua was just 44 years old when his life was cut short from cancer.

Joshua is survived by his loving wife, Nicole and their beautiful children Alexander, Jacob, and Madilyn.  Joshua is also survived by his parents Merle and Lori Caylor, brother Shane (Jenny) Caylor, sister Julie (Mark) Stang, In-laws Vincent & Cathy Terzis, and brother-in-law Michael (Sarah) Terzis as well as his beloved nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, godchildren, extended family, and many friends.  Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Sandy Schermuly, and Vernal and Donna Caylor.

Joshua proudly served in the United States Navy after high school.  He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and played a very active role at St. Charles Borromeo Academy, where his children all attended school.  Joshua was an active Boy Scout when he was young, and as an adult he participated in scouts with his sons where he earned the rank of Honorary Warrior in the tribe of Mic-O-Say.

Joshua loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping.  He passed his love of the outdoors onto his children, and he treasured that he was able to be with each of them when they harvested their first deer.  Joshua could often be found poolside with his family and friends.  He was very particular about his beautiful yard and was known to "talk" to contractors that thought they needed to dig in or place utilities in his beautiful grass, as he would convince them otherwise.  Joshua was extremely crafty and multi-talented.  He enjoyed building things, and he could fix anything that was broken.  He was the person that all of his friends and family called when they needed help, and Joshua was always available and willing.  Joshua could do anything from impressive woodworking to building elaborate decorated birthday cakes for his children.

Joshua was a proud man, and fiercely passionate about his family.  He instilled the importance of faith to his children and taught them how important a strong work ethic is. He taught his sons important life skills from an early age and was so proud to watch them excel at anything. He was strong and stubborn, yet a big softie, especially for his baby girl, Madilyn, who had him wrapped around her finger from the minute she was born.  He was a loyal friend to many and had an ornery sense of humor.  If you were on the other end of teasing or a joke from Joshua, you knew that he liked you.  His family joked that he was Superman, and this term became an endearment as Joshua grew increasingly ill, yet never stopped fighting, and proved until his last breath how amazingly strong he was.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him dearly.

Services for Joshua:  Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the Rosary at 11:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 12 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
