Joyce Elanore Rooney, 75, Kansas City, MO, was called home on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 23, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at the Funeral Home, with burial following in Mt. Joyce was born September 6, 1936 in Ramsgate, County of Kent, England. She was a beloved wife, mother, nana, great-grandmother, and friend, and was an active member of the Daughters of the British Empire. She enjoyed helping others through Catholic Charities, Meals on Wheels, and the Alliance Against Family Violence amongst many other organizations. She retired from UPS after 20 years of service. Joyce was very proud of her British heritage. We love and will miss her greatly.

Survivors include her husband, Frank W. Rooney, of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Tania and Thomas Dodson; son, Stephen Gravley; step-son, Robert Rooney; grandchildren, Erica Johnson, Victoria Dodson-Gay, Chase Dodson; four great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Shirley Sinclair of Biggin Hill, England and Gwen Heard of Ramsgate, England.
