Juan
Marin
Apr 1, 1957 — Jan 16, 2017
Juan Marin, 59, died January 16, 2017. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge, Raytown, MO 64138.
Juan was the third oldest in a family of seventeen from Camaguey, Cuba. He came to the United States in June of 1981 and eventually settled in Kansas City. For most of his life he was a painter by trade but could do just about anything. He loved to do yard work, making it beautiful with plants and flowers. In his mind, the more flowers the better.
Juan was a fixture of the downtown and midtown restaurant industry doing anything and everything the restaurant owners needed. There probably isn't a dish in downtown that Juan hadn't washed. As the years passed and people got to know him better, his work moved to their homes. His paintbrush has touched the walls of nearly everyone who knew him, as well as their yards being tended to, and any other odd jobs they needed done. His life was not always an easy one but that never stopped him from being kind and lending a helping hand. He was willing to work all day for a six pack of Budweiser or a bottle of whiskey. His big heart and smile will live in the minds of those who knew him best.
