Judith Lynne Kornfeld, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away May 1, 2023.

Judy was born on August 29, 1941, in Springfield, Illinois, to the late Harry L. and Vera (Narmont) Fitzhugh. She graduated from Malone College in Canton, Ohio, before earning her master's degree from Ball State in Muncie, Indiana. Judy taught school for over thirty years in Indiana, Missouri, and Mississippi. She was a business teacher, an academic and athletics coach, and a yearbook sponsor. She taught at Northeast High School in Kansas City from 1988 to 2001. Judy enjoyed bridge, golf, teaching, and college basketball. Along with her husband Alex, also a retired teacher and curriculum coordinator, they were active in the AFT, MFT, and KCFT.

Judy was preceded in death by her daughter Annette L. Steele. She is survived by her husband Alex Kornfeld; her daughters, Emma Steele of Akron, OH, and Julia Steel of Indianapolis, IN; her sister Nancy Zloch (William) of Ponte Vedra, FL; brother-in-law Steve Kornfeld (Diana); nieces and nephews Kristie Zloch, Bill Zloch, Nicki Kornfeld Crump, Jennie Kornfeld; and great-niece and nephew Mira and Ben.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, followed by Graveside Services at Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City North.
