Judith Florence (LaScala) Bax, 70, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terr., Kansas City, MO 64116. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 21, at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Judy was born November 12, 1944, in New Orleans, LA, and moved to Kansas City in 1959. She attended Bishop Lillis High School where she met the love of her life, Jack Bax. They married on August 7, 1965. Judy retired from American Century Investments in 1999. Her fondest memories were the wonderful people she worked with, and winning the prestigious Francis J. Raw Award in 1997.

Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack in 2002, her father Joe LaScala, in 1978; and mother, Virginia LaScala, in 1987.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jackie and Randy Jones, Julie and David Huttinger, Jeff and Amy Bax; her beautiful grandchildren, Drew and Alex Huttinger, Jackson and Annie Jones, Sophia, Isabella and Samuel Bax; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Dr. Joe Gialde; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Nancy LaScala; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Betty Bax, Dan and Patsy Bax, Beth and Ralph Martin, Bob and Kathleen Bax, Ralph and Lou Bax, Mary Jane and Ed Reese, David and Christine Bax; many nieces and nephews; family in Springfield, MO, New Orleans, LA; dear aunt Toots and uncle Leonard and all the "country kids".

Judy was truly blessed with so many wonderful caregivers, family, neighbors, and friends. She wanted everyone to know how thankful she was and also when you think of her, imagine her "dancing with the angels".

Pallbearers will be Patrick Bax, Charles Bax, Jr., Edward Reese, Jr., Michael Bax, Alex Bax, Thomas Joseph Gialde, Joseph M. LaScala and Matt Malott.
