June Darlene Hertzog, 79, passed away February 21, 2020. The Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. followed by Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday, February 27, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 28, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5106 St. John Ave., Kansas City, MO 64123 followed by entombment at Mount Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Center at KU Medical Center .
June was born December 25, 1940, to the late Dorothy and Earl Howard Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Northeast Kansas City, MO, where she attended James Elementary and was a 1958 graduate of Northeast High School. June was owner of Northeast Lawnmower Shop on St. John Avenue for 32 years. She was a devout Catholic and a very active member of Holy Cross Parish. June had a passion for travel and took many trips around the world with her family and many KCFD friends. After retirement, she and Terry became "snowbirds" and spent many months traveling in their RV. She also had a love for reading.
June was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Jean; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marge and Homer Hertzog. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Sr.; her children, Debbie Harter (Jim), Jeff, Brian (Tricia), David (Lisa), Michael, and TJ (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Kelli Claypool (Tyeson), Danielle, Kevin (Sara), Carsin, Ashli, Nicholas, Lukus, Colton (Sarah), Chance, Vince, and Matt Hertzog, Madison and Harrison Jackson; nine great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Earl Howard Jr. (Patty Jo); sisters-in-law, Elaine West and Gayle Davis (Greg); many nieces and nephews; many close friends; and her KCFD family.
Pallbearers: Kevin Hertzog, Nicholas Hertzog, Matt Hertzog, Vince Hertzog, Shane Davis, Gabe Davis.
