Katherine Rose Pace, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 21, 2013. Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64114, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Please omit flowers.

Katherine was born September 30, 1922 in Kansas City, MO. With her husband Tony she co-owned and operated Tony Pace's Market at 8th & Paseo. She was famous for her cooking and even more so for baking her incredible Italian cookies which were enjoyed at many family weddings and holidays. She also enjoyed crafts. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Pearl Battaglia; her husband of 45 years, Tony Pace, in 1986; her son-in-law, Paul DiGiovanni, in 2011; two brothers, Sammy and Frank; and three sisters, Mary, Rose, and Josephine.

Survivors include her daughter, Margheurite DiGiovanni; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Kathleen Pace, Anthony and Carol Pace; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Frances Battaglia; brother-in-law, Frank Sorrentino; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
