Kenneth Charles Benanti passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 56.

Born on April 14, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri, Ken was the son of the late Frank and Barbara Benanti. He grew up with a deep appreciation for family, friendship, and the simple joys of life.

Ken loved spending time outdoors, whether tending to his garden or casting a line at his favorite local fishing spot—his buddy's condo. He was especially proud of the tomatoes he grew each year, even though he famously refused to eat them himself. A devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, he rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team.

Music was another of Ken's great passions. He loved the blues, and two of his favorite bands were made up of longtime friends. Recently, he had the special chance to be together with them, and they gifted him a guitar signed by them all—something he treasured deeply.

He loved his job and his work family has kept in touch with him during his illness – it meant the world to him.

Ken had a strong sense of family—both the one he was born into, the one he built with Melissa, and the one he made through friendships over the years. His friends were truly his family. He was especially proud of his role as a grandpa and dad, roles that brought him immense joy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa; his daughter, Mallory (Justin); his son, Kyle; and his beloved grandchildren, Payton, Hadley, and Carter. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank Benanti III (Beth), Michael Benanti (Connie), and Patrick Benanti, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, March 13, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.

Ken will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, love of music, and the deep care he had for the many people he considered family. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
