Kenneth Perry
Greathouse
Nov 17, 1947 — Apr 20, 2023
Kenneth Perry Greathouse departed this world surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the age of 75.
Kenneth was born on November 17, 1947, to Leonard Paul and Mildred Ruth (Buchanan) Greathouse. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, and later Warrensburg and Odessa, MO. In Kansas City, he met the love of his life, Juanita (Lopez) Greathouse. Together, they raised three wonderful children, Monica, Marco, and Kenny. They were blessed with four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Kenny was a veteran of the Vietnam War and later worked as a machinist at Elf Machine Works for many years before retiring. He was a constant figure in his family's lives, a support system, a mentor, and could always be counted on to make you smile. Kenny was a self-proclaimed collector and could be found on the weekends visiting estate sales with his brother Jimmy, searching for new treasures.
His personality was one of a kind; you could find yourself laughing with him and bantering with him all in the same conversation, and that was his charm. "He would give you the shirt off his back" was said many times regarding his generosity which is to say the least about this great man.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Rodriquez; parents Leonard and Mildred Greathouse; siblings Johnny Greathouse, Donald Freeman Greathouse, and Sherry Lemley; and longtime friend Mary Musso.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Juanita Greathouse; children Monica Rodriquez and Marco Rodriguez; grandchildren Hope Rodriquez, Amber Rodriquez, Anthony Rodriquez (Megan), and Sierra Rodriquez-Forbes; great-grandchildren Anthony Thomas, Aero, Lily, Abel, Bennett, Violet, and Emilia; daughter-in-law Sildiane Quinteros; sister-in-law Patricia Greathouse; and nephew Dominic Musso. He is also survived by his siblings Patricia Smith, Leonard Greathouse (Judy), James Greathouse, Jackie Greathouse, and Terry Stone; many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Inurnment will be 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
