Ronald Kevin Pasley, 70, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, surrounded by family and the love of everyone who knew him. Born August 18, 1956, Kevin was the first child of Ronald and Shirley Pasley. His parents were enamored with their beautiful, blonde, dimpled-smile baby and his bright, intelligent eyes. They were so proud of him, always.

Kevin was a wonderful big brother- playing army, football and music with Marc, instinctively snatching toddler DeAnn out of the way of a moving car, and spending many hours listening, comforting, and talking with her through her teen years and beyond.

Kevin grew up on Morrell Avenue and graduated from Northeast High School. It was here that he met the first of his lifelong friends. They shared crazy, ditch-em Shenanigans, stocking ball and the music of Bowie, Lou Reed and Roxy Music. And then there were Kevin’s wild adventures playing in an avant garde band. These escapades led to some of Kevin’s best stories-told with wit, wisdom, and hilarity.

Kevin’s passion for music was a constant. An accomplished composer, singer, songwriter, and innovator, he brought computer assisted music to the local scene. Above all, he was a storyteller. Whether through his lyrics or an audience with him as he drank coffee, people were entertained.

Kevin was a presence. He didn’t just bring an aura with him; he was the aura. He was adored by many, including his nieces and nephew who clamored to be near him and the first to bring him juice in the morning. He held court and was the arbiter of musical taste and politics. We joked that Kevin was an emperor in his past life and made him wear a laurel crown at his 60th birthday party. We loved our Kevin and will love and miss him until the day we meet again.

He is survived by his mother and father, brother Marc Pasley (Tracy), sister DeAnn Pasley (Houstin), nieces Colby Stuart (Eric), Megan Sollenberger (Brandon), Katie Ng (Jon) and nephew Graham McTavish (Tessa).

With profound gratitude, the family thanks Dr. Haoran Li and the medical team at The University of Kansas Cancer Center - Westwood, Dr. Amit Rastogi and the medical teams at The University of Kansas Medical Center, and Anne, Maria, Kim, Jessica, Kelly, Giselle, Natalie, Michelle, Kristi and everyone at St Luke’s Hospice House-Kansas City.
