Larry Richard Afrisio, born March 1, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Frank and Loretta Afrisio, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother Frank J. Afrisio; sister-in-law Sherry Afrisio; nephews Jeff Afrisio and Brian Afrisio; niece Adrienne Afrisio; cousin Lolly Beamgard; and cousin and best friend Mike Seaman.

Surviving from his huge close-knit family are his only child, daughter Jammie Wharton and husband Chris; grandson Matthew Afrisio; granddaughter Marabella Wharton; brothers Rick Afrisio and Mike Afrisio; sister Terri DeLany; nieces Elizabeth and Janina; nephews Anthony, Eric, Benny, and Nick; former wife and very close friend Karen Ray; and numerous cousins including Linda Snow, Toni Cardarella, Kathy Fuller, and Jack and Vince Crapisi.

Larry shared many stories from his life adventures and from working at Chloride Battery in Kansas City, working in Las Vegas, and from his many decades as a self-employed home contractor doing beautiful remodeling and quality repairs to homes.

Larry was the best son, son-in-law, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, father-in-law, dad, and grandpa in the world. He always made time to share his knowledge with anyone. He made it a point to spend quality, fun times with his two grandchildren and enjoyed getting them Worlds of Fun passports and taking them there himself until he was no longer able to. He always had whatever you needed and always had the answer and knew how to do whatever you needed done – whether it was car repair, home remodeling, fixing appliances, or even cooking. Larry loved that his grandkids appreciated his interest in music and records. He loved all babies in the family, and most recently enjoyed going to see the newest addition to the family - his great-niece Sophia (Elizabeth). He spoke about her often and smiled ear to ear watching videos of her and mentioned his own little girl (Jammie) doing the same things when she was a baby.

His love, knowledge, and wisdom will be forever cherished and missed by those who love him.
