Laura (Digiovanni)
Tucker
Jan 6, 1944 — Oct 24, 2024
Laura Virginia (DiGiovanni) Tucker, 80, of Leawood, Kansas passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2024, with her loving family by her side.
Laura was born on January 6, 1944, in Kansas City, MO, and attended Southwest High School. She met the love of her life Jim in 1960, and they were married in 1963. They shared 61 years of marriage together with Laura creating homes as they moved all over the world for Jim's career including Bangkok, Germany, and several US states. She raised four children, was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a phenomenal cook, avid bridge player, creative floral designer and a gracious hostess even at a moment's notice . She never missed an opportunity to create memories with her family. She supported her children as den mother, homeroom mother, sports fan, volunteered at school events, led volksmarches, hosted pool parties and all holiday and birthday celebrations. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always prioritized her family and showed her love by playing games, making cookies, sharing recipes and was always up for anything the kids thought would be fun. Laura adored her grandchildren and relished every moment spent with them. She supported and cheered for them the same way she did her children. Laura's legacy of love, generosity, and family devotion will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband Jim Tucker; children Jimmy Tucker, Fran Tucker, Laura Tucker (Leanne Word), Christina Smith (Jeff); grandchildren Jordan Tucker Robertson (Davon), Joel Dickerson (Bryn), Jake Smith, Luke Smith; great-grandson Charlie Boyer; sister Elvira "Pinky" Cipolla; sister-in-law Marge (Pace) DiGiovanni; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Frances DiGiovanni; brother Paul DiGiovanni; brother-in-law Anthony "Tony" Cipolla; and in-laws Jimmy and Frances Tucker.
