Laurence D. Cantu, 70, passed away March 8, 2017. Visitation will be 9 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96 ^th St., Kansas City, MO 64155. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Assistance League of Kansas City, 6101 N. Larry was born November 30, 1946, in Raymondville, TX, to Laurence and Ada (Denais) Cantu, who preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and worked over 30 years for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City before retiring as a systems analyst in 2006. Larry enjoyed playing cards, and was an avid, ranked tennis player in the Kansas City area for 30 years. His true love though was his family, especially his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Judy Cantu; his children, Jeffrey Cantu (Kellie Barnes) and Jill Gates (Michael Perkins); his grandchildren, Hudson and Marybeth Cantu, Dustin, Charlie and Dean Gates; and his brothers, Jean Cantu (Patti), Stephen Cantu (Cheryl), and Lance (Gale).
