Lawrence Edward Greeley, 76, Independence, MO,
passed away May 7, 2016. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10017 E. 36th Terr., Independence, MO 64052. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Lawrence was born Feb. 20, 1940 to Maurice and Marie (Batliner) Greeley in Kansas City, Missouri. He served in United States Air Force, drove for Yellow Cab Company and retired from Checker Cab. His quiet and gentle nature will be missed by all who knew him.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim Greeley and sister Maureen Cooley. Survivors include his siblings Kenny (Connie) Greeley, Mary Catherine (Earl - deceased) Clark, and Pat (Danny - deceased) Thomason; many nephews and nieces, extended family and friends.
