Leola Margaret Schmidt, Maggie, 77, passed away August 20, 2022, surrounded by her family. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. followed by Visitation 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, at St. James Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, at St. James Church, followed by burial at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Maggie was born June 14, 1945, in Larne, Ireland. She worked as a home health aide for several years before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was a long-time member of St. James Catholic Church in Liberty, MO.

Maggie was preceded in death by her father Cleo Carroll, her mother Mary Russell Carroll, brothers Cleo Carroll Jr. and Jackie Carroll, and sister June Whary. She is survived by her husband Hermann Schmidt, daughter Marlene Selley (Rod Selley), son Eric Schmidt, daughter Melissa McAvan (Patrick McAvan), son Jeff Schmidt, sister Kathleen Dorothy, sister Ada Mathews, grandchildren: Jacob Schmidt, Amber Selley, Allan Selley, Zachary Selley, Emily McAvan, Sarah McAvan, Anna McAvan; and 16 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Jacob Schmidt, Allan Selley, Zachary Selley, Rod Selley, Dennis Carroll, Mike Carroll. Honorary Pallbearers: Ben Carroll and Patrick McAvan.
