Leonard J. "Lalo" Grado, 76, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 907 Cesar Chavez Ave., Kansas City, MO 64108. Leonard was born June 24, 1935 in Kansas City, MO to Bernardo and Rosario Grado. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 609. He retired from General Motors. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Henry, Joe, and Jesse Grado; and his sister, Ramona Kienzle.

He is survived by his children, Gloria Ann Grado, LTC (Dr.) Leonard J. Grado, Jr., Ricardo "Rick" Grado, Rosario "Rosie" Grado, Angelina Grado Juarez, Daniel Rey Grado, Rachel M. Grado-Wilken; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Grado, Sr., Bernie Grado, Sr.; sister, Sally Grado; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
