Obituary

Lisa Renee Walker, 54, went to sleep on April 15, 2023, and woke up in the arms of her daddy. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 29, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home.

Lisa was born July 11, 1968, in Kansas City, MO.  She was preceded in death by her father - her Papa Bear - Buster Walker; her paternal grandparents Sherman and Opal Walker; her maternal grandparents Carl and Rosemarie George; her nephew Mark Anthony Walker; and sadly many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lisa is survived by her mother Trish Walker; her brother Tony Walker; and her sister Claudia McKee. She is also survived by her fiancé, whom she lovingly called her "Big Dog," Richard Larabee.

Lisa graduated from St. Pius X High School and then served her country in the U.S. Army from 1992 - 1994 with a deployment to Somalia.  She was very proud of her service. Lisa embraced every aspect of her life. She loved her family and friends unconditionally.  She loved all her animals, from her horses she rode getting medals for equestrian jumping, to her one-eyed rat, to the six dogs and one cat she left behind. Lisa loved swimming and swam competitively from the age of nine years old. She tried being a cheerleader for North Suburban Football, but as she put it, she would rather be the one doing sports than the one cheering for someone else. This earned her the nickname, "Leather Canary" (Tough Bird). She loved the lake house and everything that came with it, including the hunt to get the best eagle pictures. She could belt out a Janis Joplin or Meatloaf song like nobody's business.

Recently she started making the most beautiful metal art that was earning her the high praise she so deserved. Also, she found a passion for meditation and self-betterment through peace and love. Lisa could do anything she made up her mind to do, including using her great grandmother's tins and making the best cannolis ever!
