Lloyd Herman, 79, passed away October 1, 2018. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. followed by Visitation at 10:45 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 5, at St. James Catholic Church, 309 S. Stewart Rd., Liberty, MO 64068. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Liberty Hospice or the St. James Church Building Fund.
Lloyd was born October 5, 1938, in West Point, NE, and graduated from Guardian Angel High School. Lloyd served our nation as a member of the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He owned Herman Ford and Lincoln, Champion Auto Store, Golf Cars of America and Herman Fiber Glass Company. Lloyd was an avid Golfer, and for the past 20 years enjoyed residing in Phoenix, AZ and Kansas City, MO. He loved his Nebraska Cornhuskers Football and spent countless weekends watching College Football. He enjoyed flipping houses in the Phoenix area.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Emma Herman; sister, Marilyn Kreikemeier; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Jacobs, William Gentrup and Norman Emanuel. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Carol J. (Kammermeier-Strack) Herman; his children, Carol A. Herman of Syracuse, NE, Michael and Beverly Herman of Phoenix, AZ, Lisa and Terry Helphrey of LaVista, NE, Jennifer Herman of Papillion, NE, Roxanne and Michael LaCapra of Kansas City; grandchildren, Nick Herman, Anna and Reid Helphrey, Maria and Phillip LaCapra; sisters, Luella Jacobs, Norma Emanuel; and brother-in-law, Arnold Kreikemeier.
