Loretta (Montes) Montoya, 80, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2018.

Loretta was born August 13, 1937, in Kansas City, MO, to the late John and Antonia Montes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Montoya, in 2014; and her daughters, Barbara Mendoza and Marsha Magdaleno. Survivors include her daughters, Antonia Chapman (Gary), Loretta Larabee, and Michelle Hernandez; her sons, Phillip Mendoza (Anna), Martin Mendoza, and Kevin Mendoza (Linda); 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Beatrice, John, Larry, Bobby, Michael, and Helen.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Family and friends will gather on Monday, April 23, at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4313 SW State Route 7, Blue Springs, MO 64014, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO. A potluck will be held at St. Robert's Parish Hall following the burial.
