Lucille F. "Lu" Raniolo, 88, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, February 5, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.

Lu was born October 25, 1926, in Kansas City, MO, to Sam and Frances (Leggio) Raniolo. She retired from Employers Reinsurance Corp. and was a former member of Holy Cross Parish. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Josephine Charmella, Salvina Panarisi; and her brothers, John Raniolo and Tom Raniolo.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Mary and Frank Hayden, Sara and Jim Cascone, Joe Charmella, Joe Panarisi, Sam and Christine Panarisi, Frances and Paul McKnight, Frances and Keith Westhues, Frank and Tammy Panarisi, Theresa Agrusa, Mary Raniolo, Tom and Toni Raniolo, Sam and Madori Raniolo; 22 great-nieces and nephews; and four great-great-nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at The Villages of Jackson Creek Memory Care for the love and care they gave Lu the past 3 ½ years.

In spite of years of illness, she remained a true example of courage, spirit and love. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
