Lucy was born April 26, 1914, the third child of the late John and Elizabeth (Armato) Barelli who immigrated to the United States from Sambuca, Sicily. She attended Washington School and Karnes Elementary, and was a graduate of the Jane Hayes Gates Institute. She then graduated from Kansas City Business College and was employed as a secretary and accountant at Rairdon Transfer & Warehouse Co. On October 6, 1933, Lucy married Frank C. Biondo. They were together for 56 years until he passed away October 12, 1989. After 10 years of marriage she and her husband opened Atlas Boiler & Welding Co. and Biondo Real Estate Corp. where she was the accountant at both for 40 years.

Lucy was proud of her Italian-American heritage and proud of her immigrant ancestors who worked so hard to raise their families. Aunt Lu was the person the family called to learn about their history. She was an avid reader and always said you were never lonely when you had books to read. She was a former member of Holy Rosary Parish and was still a member of St. Elizabeth Parish, and was a member of the Ladies of Charity and the American Daughters of Columbus. Lucy was a business woman, a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Ann Biondo Ruisinger; her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Pat and Nancy Biondo; her parents; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Pasquale "Pat" and Lil Barelli, Carlo "Carl" and Jennie Barelli, Anthony "Nene" and Bridget Barelli; her wonderful in-laws, Joe and Anna Biondo, Anna and Steve Giangreco, and Joe and Annabelle Biondo; niece, Liz Donnici; and cousin, Dr. Pat Barelli. She is survived by her eight grandchildren, Richard Ruisinger III (Heather), Frank Ruisinger, Tim Biondo (Jackie), Frank Biondo (Cassee), Lucy Haugh (Brian), Nancy Jo Tempel (Larry), Angela Brown (Emily), Joey Pat Biondo (Kim); nieces and nephew, Betty LaCapra (Phil), Joan Sorrentino, John Barelli (Angel); many loving cousins including Rose Sara Licausi and June Barelli, the LeVota family, and cousins from Grandma Ciccio's family.
