Luz Maria Perez-Perez, 54, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on January 29, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Luz was born on September 13, 1971, in Nueva Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Ramiro Perez-Ochoa and Maria Concepcion Perez-Nieto.

Luz was blessed with 33 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Aurelio Pizano, and together they raised three sons whom she loved deeply. She was a strong, loving, and kind mother who found her greatest joy in being with her family. Luz loved cooking for those she loved and cherished quiet moments watching movies with her sons. In the last chapter of her life, she dedicated herself to caring for her mother, a true reflection of her selfless heart. She also shared a special and cherished bond with her sister, Rosa Perez.

Luz was preceded in death by her father, Ramiro Perez-Ochoa; her grandparents, Rutila Nieto, Pedro Perez, Juan Ochoa, and Maria Perez; and her mother-in-law, Maria Guadalupe Zarate.

She is survived by her mother, Maria Concepcion Perez-Nieto; her husband, Aurelio Pizano; her siblings, Rosa Maria Perez-Perez (Manuel Medina), Guadalupe Perez-Perez, and Jorge Luis Perez-Perez; her sons, Ramiro Fidel Pizano-Perez, Antonio Jesus Pizano-Perez (Kendall Wymore), and Edgardo Pizano-Perez; her granddaughter, Rennesme Galvez; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on February 4, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with Mass to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5106 St. John Ave., Kansas City, MO 64123.

Honorary Pallbearers include Aurelio Pizano, Ramiro Pizano, Antonio Pizano, Edgardo Pizano, Gilberto Alvarez, and Manuel Medina.

Señor, no solo te llevaste una persona más; te has llevado parte de la vida de cada uno de nosotros que la supimos amar. Y como su nombre lo dice, Luz María iluminó nuestros corazones y nuestras almas. Nunca dejaremos que se apague su luz brillante.
