Mamie "Mae" Cariddi, 81, Lee's Summit, MO, passed away very peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2015, embraced in the arms of her husband and daughters at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee's Summit Rd., Independence, MO 64055. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, at St. Mark's Catholic Church followed by entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Jim & Mae Cariddi Endowed Scholarship Fund for students of Italian heritage at Park University.

Mae was born September 2, 1933, in Chicago, IL, to Emanuel and Virginia (Gambino) Nuccio. Mae was the "I Love Lucy" to her family and friends, always keeping them in stitches with her antics: chocolates, yardsticks and a Volkswagen situation. "Hoover Mae" loved to clean and sing, and her home was always kept immaculate. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel loved. Her family was always everything to her – as she was to them. Mae worked as a banquet waitress for Gilbert-Robinson for many years and volunteered at the thrift shop at Truman Medical Center - Lakewood.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Vivian Nuccio, Vincent and Cele Nuccio, Emanuel "Manny" Nuccio, Frank Nuccio; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anna and George Lomonte; and son-in-law, Joseph H. Wickey.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, James G. "Jim" Cariddi; her daughters and sons-in-law, Grace Ann and Frank G. Ancona, Ginna Terrill, Joette and Steve Brownrigg, Anna Marie Mathenia and former son-in-law Kelly Mathenia; grandchildren, Philip, Ginna (Diego), Alissa, Maegan (Kyle), Christy (G), Jimmy, Nicholas, Andrea, Sicily, Valentino, Remy; 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Ross and June Nuccio, Mary Nuccio, Nicci Nuccio; special great-niece and caretaker, Lisa Alexander; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
