Manuel Garcia of Columbus Park passed away Friday, November 1, 2013. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Burial will follow in Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery.

Manuel attended Karnes School and Manual High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korea, serving as a Staff Sergeant. He attended Finley Engineering College and later entered into hotel management as a banquet events manager, in which he enjoyed an excellent reputation.

Manuel was preceded in death by his mother, Cruz Garcia, in 2002; and his sisters, Hope Carrillo in 1987, and Estella Gonzales in 2002.

Survivors include his sister, Lupe Garcia; his brother, Tony Garcia of Sun Lakes, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
