Obituary

Maria Morreale, 54, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, her mother and father.  Maria fought her nearly four-year-long battle with cancer with courage, dignity and grace, never giving up hope.

Maria was born on St Patrick's Day March 17, 1971.  Maria graduated from Northeast High School in 1989.  She made the most of her high school years and loved reminiscing about her many friends and the good times they had.

Maria began her work life at Carollo's Meat company in the City Market, where she was treated like part of the family.  After leaving Carollo's, Maria started her next career at the Circuit Court of Jackson County where she held many positions over 27 years.  Highly decorated over that time Maria retired as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of IT in December of 2024.  Maria loved her time with Jim and the team in IT and maintained a friendship with Jim and his wife Tracy that she cherished.

Maria is survived by her husband of 32 years Louis Morreale; her father Vincent Termini; her mother Minnie Termini; her father-in-law Phillip Morreale; her mother-in-law Debbie Morreale; sisters-in-law Lisa Arnall (Scott) and Leslie Morreale; her uncle Joseph Termini (Jeannie); and her aunt Theresa Truzolino.  She is also survived by many cousins and nieces, one with which - Mary Giangalanti-Brancato (Vito) - she built a lifelong bond since they were born only three days apart. Mary and Vito introduced her to her husband Louie.

Maria enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished her many trips, especially cruises with family.  Her quick wit and sense of humor brightened anyone's day that she came in contact with.

Maria always thought of others before herself and will be deeply missed by all that had the fortune to know her.

A special thanks goes out to the staffs of both North Kansas City Health and The University of Kansas Cancer Center on Green Hills Road for their care and compassion.
