Obituary

Marianna DiMiceli, 93, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband Giuseppe in 1977.

Marianna was born in Campofelice Di Fitalia on May 16, 1928 and moved to Kansas City with her family in July of 1968. She worked as a seamstress at Hall's Plaza, retiring at age 75.

She is survived by her sisters, Jean DiMiceli and husband Carl of Kansas City and Grazia Spitaleri and husband Antonino of Campofelice; son Sal DiMiceli (Marcia) and daughter Josephine McCoy (Tim); grandchildren Anna Marie, Andrea (Pete), Christina and Molly; great-grandchildren Cooper, Cohen and Wade. She was "Nonna" to everyone who knew her. Marianna also leaves behind many nephews and nieces in Campofelice, Sicily, Italy, Spain and Kansas City.

Marianna loved playing Bocce on Wednesday nights at the American Sons of Columbus for many years and getting together with "paesanos" at the Club Campofelice Di Fitalia events. She enjoyed celebrating her birthdays at Paul and Jack's Tavern, listening and dancing to the band.

A special thank you to our friend Elaina Spinello who helped Nonna during the last year of living at home, the North Kansas City Hospital Hospice, and Meals on Wheels for their support.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Sons of Columbus Bocce League.
