Marie Armato, 90, of Kansas City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 18, 2011. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO 64106. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where a prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Online condolences may be offered at www.passantinobros.com.

Born May 10, 1921, to Francesco and Pietra Cottone, Marie spent all of her life in Kansas City. She was preceded to heaven by her husband of 64 years, Sammy Armato, oldest daughter of 52 years, Anna Jean Armato-Yonker, sister of 74 years, Sadie Miceli, along with dear friends and family Carrie Perniciaro, and Bridget Barelli.

She survived by daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Byron Spencer; son Carl Armato; grandchildren Carla Armato, Jackie and Jason Hansen, Frank Armato, Amy and Jonathan Brumley; great-grandchildren Jack Hansen, Anna and Ava Armato, Eleanor and Theodore Brumley; brother and sister-in-law Joseph and Josephine Cottone; sister-in-law Jennie Armato; and many nieces and nephews including Lucy Biondo, Anne DeFleece, Jeannie and Mike McKee, Rosara Licausi, Anthony Salucci, Carl and Sara Armato, Larry and Mary Pat Vering, Joe and Rosara Gallagher, Larry and Joan Buccero and many more.

Marie acquired many titles throughout her life by being a committed wife and homemaker, a wonderful mother, aunt, a loyal friend, but most recognized as "Noni Marie".

Noni Marie modeled a contagious joy you were sure to catch if you shared any time with her. She had an amazing emotional pull by sharing stories about "the good ole' days" or a life lesson about forgiveness and unconditional love. There were many things she enjoyed doing outside by going to the zoo, taking in Royals games, and going to Branson, as well as going to the rodeo, the ballet and Sunday morning church services. Most of all, Marie enjoyed just being with people she really loved throughout her years, and there were many: Ann Scarcello, Vince and Tammy Liberto, Alex and Judy Picone, Steve and Heather Conway, Barry and Rosemarie Clair, David, Vicki, and Nathaniel Myers, and John and Angie Mutti to mention a few.
