Marie Carmella Battaglia, 64, of Kansas City, MO, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, with her family by her side at North Kansas City Hospital. Her wish was to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be 12-4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where a prayer service will begin at 1 p.m.

Marie was born October 18, 1948, in Kansas City, MO, to Sam and Marie Battaglia, who preceded her in death. She worked at Furr's Cafeteria and Burlington Coat Factory for many years. Her joy in life was to watch her nieces and nephews grow up.

Marie is survived by her sister, Pearl Battaglia; brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Sondra Battaglia; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Dennis Crouch; and her beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family offers a special thank you to Dr. Joseph Palazola and the 5th floor staff at North Kansas City Hospital for the care given to Marie.
