Marie L. Cacioppo, 96, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Don Bosco Senior Center.
Marie was born December 11, 1921, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Louis and Katie (Lamanno) Marino. She worked as a cosmetologist for 50 years and operated her own salons in the early 1960's including the Hilton Inn Downtown Salon & Boutique. Her true passion was the American Daughters of Columbus where she served as president and was co-founder of the American Daughters of Columbus Cookbook in 1969. Marie enjoyed bowling and Friday night card games with special friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Angela Hill.
Marie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles A. Jr. and Anita Cacioppo; her three grandchildren - her "angels", Marie Cacioppo, Anna Cacioppo, Charles A. Cacioppo III (Holly and her children Zoie, Casey, and Braxton); sisters, Roselia Hiatt, Roselina Mitts (Harold); and sister-in-law, Margaret Roccaforte.
The family offers special thanks to the staff at New Mark Care Center, Crossroads Hospice, and special caregivers Gina and Ken Pricer, and Jackie Meisner.
