With heavy hearts and great sorrow, we announce the passing of Marie J. Caruso, 81, on January 21, 2018. She now joins her parents in Heaven. The Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. followed by Visitation from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 26, at St. Thomas More Church, followed by burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Marie was born March 1, 1936, in Kansas City, MO, and was a ballet dancer in her youth. She graduated from Manual High School and attended St. Theresa's Academy. Marie met her true love, Victor, and they were married May 15, 1957. Together they raised three children. She worked as a tech for Spalitto's Pharmacy for many years before retiring and was a devout Catholic who was active at St. Thomas More Parish. Marie was a member of the American Daughters of Columbus where she enjoyed playing bocce, cards, and bowling. Her love of cooking and baking was shared with all her family and friends. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Marie was preceded in death by her family, Alex and Millie Presta, and Tony Nasello. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Victor Caruso; her children, Alex Caruso, Anthony Caruso (Karen), Victoria Thompson (Cory); grandchildren, Christina Caruso, Sophia Caruso, Alana and Ben McMullin, Cassandra Caruso, Madison Caruso, Dominic Caruso, and Cayden Thompson; and sisters-in-law, Joann, and Lucille Pickett Zamarripa (Eric).
